Sited at a rural border crossing in Vermont, this project references the local rail line highlighting freight passage between Canada and the US. A traveler can choose to park and rest in the shifting volumes hanging from the rail line, or simply pass through, merging back onto the roadway. The plans show three-unit clusters, the center cluster houses two visitor bedrooms and is flanked one side by the border control booth and attendant apartment, and on the other side by visitor indoor parking and restrooms. The striated ground treatment directs vehicular movement and visually connects the outer clusters, which are shown shifting in relation to each other along the rail line axis.
